Shreve, Crump & Low’s Festive Table 2009

Press Release Provided by Shreve, Crump & Low
Let the holiday entertaining season begin! Shreve, Crump & Low announced today that "Festive Table", a celebratory showcase of table settings created by Boston's premier interior designers, opens November 5th and runs through November 29th. Seven talented designers were given complete freedom to create their ultimate table settings, with merchandise selected from Shreve Crump & Low’s extensive china, crystal and giftware departments and from the designers’ own collections. Both floors of Shreve, Crump & Low are being transformed into a display of magnificent table settings and will inspire customers to create their very own "Festive Table".

The seven designers participating in this celebration of entertaining are among the “crème de la crème” of the impressive Boston interior design community. They include: Michael Barnum, John Berenson, Dennis Duffy, Anthony Catalfano, Michael Ferzoco, Eric Steven Jacobs, and Paula McCusker.

At the seven table setting designs located throughout the store’s two levels, customers will see some of the world’s finest giftware and china collections that are carried by Shreve, Crump & Low. From England, the William Yeoward crystal was inspired by the sumptuous pieces made in England during the 18th and 19th centuries, each one owning a distinctly original and contemporary look, equally at home in settings either modern or traditional. Remarkable Baccarat crystal from France offers “Beauty without Reason.” Also from France, Christofle Silver has been skillfully crafted by master artisans since 1830. The revolutionary style and character of Christofle comes from collaborations with groundbreaking architects, designers, and artists from around the world.

Many of the designers are also using pieces from Shreve, Crump & Low’s collections based closer to home, including traditional and contemporary works by Maine-based master decoupage artist Scott Potter, whose designs are sensuous, evocative, and enchanting. Also showcased are works from Mariposa, a leader in handmade tableware headquartered on Cape Ann, Massachusetts, whose pieces of recycled aluminum embrace the arts of aluminum in myriad forms and textures from around the world. Unique and collectible works from the store’s Vintage Steuben collection, made in Corning, New York, also grace some of the tables.

Shreve, Crump & Low is pleased to be donating ten percent of proceeds from purchases made opening night to the Boston Living Center and ten percent of proceeds from the second night of festivities to The Greater Boston Food Bank. Both organizations are participating in Shreve, Crump & Low’s Jewels to Charities™ program, whereby individuals can sell their diamonds, gold and fine estate jewelry to Shreve, Crump & Low and donate the proceeds to one of Boston’s premier charities. Shreve, Crump & Low is honored to help support such vital Boston organizations.
